Project Aus Code of Conduct

Introduction

The following code of conduct applies to all members of Project Aus, regardless of rank. It is expected that members shall obey these rules at all times and any issues should be taken up with a Project Aus admin. Before joining Project Aus, you must understand that our clan prides itself on our reputation, and so we ask you all to read the following code of conduct before registering or signing up to the clan.

1. General Behavior

The general behavior of Project Aus members is expected to be up to par with the clan’s reputation. Whether or not you are wearing the clan tag, and whether or not non-clan members are present, we expect only the best behavior at all times.

2. Clan Tag

The [PAus] clan tag must be worn at all times while in game if you are a Project Aus member. Whilst wearing that tag you are representing our clan. Therefore we ask that you try and uphold the reputation of the clan, and make a good impression in the server.

3. Ranks

Project Aus uses an in-clan ranking system very loosely based upon Australian Defence Force ranks. The harder a member works in the clan, the more chance they have of being promoted. People with higher ranks have generally worked hard to earn it, and in some cases may have the right to give you an order. Although we may order you to stop breaking a rule in game, that is generally about as far as most ranks extend into the game. Once in game, it is the rank within the division that counts. So the leadership group within the division have authority over clan members in game. Please try and obey orders given to you. If you believe you have been given an unfair order, please contact an admin immediately. If anyone is found to be abusing their rank, they may be demoted and possibly removed from the clan.

4. Ventrilo

Project Aus uses a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system called Ventrilo. This application is used by Project Aus members to communicate verbally with each other. Project Aus requires that all clan members have a microphone and to be on Ventrilo at all times whilst playing. We also encourage you to be on Ventrilo anytime you are on the computer, as this will give you a chance to casually chat with other clan members and become a part of the community, improving your chances of promotion. During official sessions such as meetings, training and clan matches, we ask that only relevant speech is made to prevent cluttering the channel. It is request that only people involved in the event be present in the channel.

5. Abuse

Project Aus will not tolerate any abuse what-so-ever. Any arguments of abuse will be taken directly to an admin for appropriate penalties. If this is a repeating issue then a suspension or ban may be emplaced. If at any time you feel you are being abused, do not retaliate. Please contact an admin immediately. Please screenshot any abuse you receive, or try and record it if it is on Ventrilo. Having proof will ensure the issue is taken further.

6. Forum Posts

The Project Aus forum is a place to discuss games, the clan, and chat about everyday topics. We try and keep a friendly environment as best as possible, and so we ask that you do not post any illegal content, or anything 18+. We also ask that you do not post any racial comments, abuse and try not to swear excessively in your posts. Any of these will be deleted and penalties may ensue.

7. Arguments

Project Aus will not tolerate anybody, especially its own members; arguing, flaming, abusing or posting with malice or with the intent to argue on the forums. These posts will be edited or deleted, and penalties may ensue. If you have an issue with any member, please contact the person privately and calmly, or contact an admin about the issue so that they can help sort it out.

8. Clan Matches

While in clan matches all members are expected to be on their best possible behavior. We request that you do not communicate with the other clan in ANY way during the match unless you are a designated captain. No taunting before, during or after the game, whether it be verbally, written in the chat box, or through character behavior in game. Any member found to be violating these rules will be punished harshly.

9. Classified Information

Here at Project Aus we provide many tactics and information to our members that aren’t meant to be publicly available. We ask all members to not reveal any information to the public. Any information that is in private forums for divisions, staff or donators must also not be revealed to other members unless they too have authorisation.

10. In-game Behavior
We understand that games can become heated and you may lose your cool at times. But please remember that you are representing a clan, and your actions will affect our reputation. Any complaints brought forward by Project Aus members or outsiders will be dealt with strictly, and no leniency will be given to those who act in the heat of the moment.

11. Participation

Project Aus prides itself in its community attitude. If you are not online enough (your time online is dependant on your time on Ventrilo), then you may be asked to leave the clan.

12. Consequences

The consequences of any break in the Code of Conduct shall differ from case to case. Minor breaches will result in an informal warning. More serious breaches will require further action, outlined in the post below.

13. Justification and queries

Although these rules seem quite harsh, it is necessary to lay down the law before a member joins Project Aus. Please realize that we aren’t as strict as we sound, but by displaying this before you join means that ignorance can not be used as an excuse. If you have a comment or question about our Code of Conduct please contact an admin.

Conclusion

The rules are created to ensure a fun, safe and friendly environment is created amongst the community. We hope you enjoy your time at Project Aus; any and all issues, complaints or general queries can be directed to an admin.
Project Aus Warning System

Introduction

Project Aus does not tolerate a breaking of the clan's code of conduct. Such breaches of the code cast a bad reflection on the offender, the clan, and generally leave a bad taste in the mouth of all involved.

In order to deter and give due punishments to such breaches of the code, Project Aus has put in place a system of consequences. This system is as follows:

1. First offence

If a breach of the code is serious enough to merit invoking the warning system, an official warning will be given. No further consequences will result from an official warning, other than the fact that the offender will be put on notice and watched carefully.

2. Second offence

A second breach of the code will result in a second official warning AND a serious reconsideration of any special privileges (i.e. division leadership). This is the last stage at which the offender can escape serious practical consequences.

3. Third offence

A third breach of the code will result in a demotion to probation for one month. This is the last straw, essentially, and their last chance to straighten out.

4. Fourth offence

If the member continues to offend after this point, they will be removed from the clan for one month. Further consequences, if necessary, will be incurred at the discretion of the staff/admins.

5. When the warning system is applied

The warning system is essentially a last resort. Most offences will not warrant an official warning, and official warnings will only be given after careful and objective scrutinization of all available evidence by the staff/admins. Project Aus assures everyone that warnings are not dealt out lightly.

6. Appeals

If a member feels they have been unfairly treated/warned, they may appeal directly to a staff or admin, and their case will be considered fairly and efficiently. In the end, however, the decision to hand out or revoke a warning rests with the staff and admins.

7. Members and the system

Members who feel that another member has breached the code should contact staff IMMEDIATELY. On that note, "vigilantism" is NOT tolerated. Do not take matters into your own hands - contact a staff or admin.

Conclusion

Once again, we re-iterate that we do not take warnings likely. Every case will be dealt with fairly and objectively.
