Hey guys.
Just thought I'd post a thread about what myself and Parka have been up to In WoW over the last 2 weeks.
As the thread suggests, we have been Multiboxing. For those who don't know what this is, multiboxing means simultaneously playing several characters in an MMORG where a typical player plays only one character at a time. This is a great challenge and great fun.
Basically I duel box (2 characters) but ppl do go up to 5 (a full party)
To do this however you do need at least 2 accounts, both in your name, which means yes more money but with the new 'recruit a friend' (RaF) promotion they are doing, you can start a new account then link the accounts. 'Linked' accounts then gain 300% XP gained from killing mobs and handing in quest! which makes multi boxing loads of fun! There are heaps of other cool perks like 'grant free lvls' and 'summon friends' which I can go into deeper later if you want to know more.
At the moment I have a lvl 30 Hunter as my main, & a lvl 30 Shammy as a healer.
Parka has a lvl 48 Rogue as his main, & a lvl 45 Paladin healer.
McNasty also duel boxes, he got me onto it. However I don’t know about his toons... post here if you read this dude.
To get these to work with little effort, we use a program called 'hotkeys'. This programs uses scripts which are easy enough to obtain so when you press a button on your keyboard, it sends the command to all open windows of WoW. so if I hit space on my main, he jumps and then my second toon also jumps. I have a macro set up so when I hit the 'F' key, it issues a follow for my alt to ensure they are always together
Heals and attacks for the alts are set up similar way with the addition of simple macros.
Questing has become a breeze with a personal heal bot at your side and 300% XP gain! lvling is easy! only pick up quest where you kill or locate ppl or singular items. Avoid gather quests or you for ever be alt+tab'ing to loot bodies.
The 'RaF' promotion last for 90days which is plenty of time to lvl to 70.
As a side note, the bonus XP bonus stops at 60 but questing duel box style is a breeze 60+ with 2 toons
