well here is the story, i am at my wits end and i am most likely missingwat is wrong so ill just tell u wats happening and hopefully u guys can help me

it first started when windows was loading up it got to the Windows XP loading screen and was on it for a second. then the screen flashed blue with white writing and restarted thenwent to the "Windows do not start properly" page i tried all of em, safe mode and start normally all doing same thing. so i knoew windows was curupted, i backed up my HDD and reformatted it and went to load windows. it got about 67% in copying files and then it says un able to copy ****.dll file did it about wice i hit enter for it to retry and it worked.. windows got to the enter cd key part. i entered it went to load up to the desxktop and crashed again.

SO>>>> i thought must be the hard drive so i went and got a harddrive and a new copy of windows xp.. and did it all over again.. got same unable to copy ***.dll files (weren't the same files) but this time windows actually loaded up i got to start installing all my drivers and again and when i had to restart i got the exact same problem.

so what the heck is wrong with this dam machine.. its about to go thru my bedroom wall.

possibly a bios problem ?

i would strip your system down to the bare essentials(CPU, 1 stick ram, 1 hard drive and 1 optical drive) to rule out any hardware problems other than your harddrive.

if the reboot still occurs, it could be a motherboard problem & if you get the BSOD its probably a faulty install of windows
Can't say what it is for sure - Ray is right - prove what isn't the problem and work it through that way. I've had similar probs before and it was just a lousy optical drive.

Bios, Cmos, have you spring cleaned lately?
Bios Chris you need to re flash it mate.
