I am leaving Project Aus because of many reasons. Mostly explained in this document [attachment=331]

This document was made before last night so i am going to add this little bit to it.

I was promised by Chrisco the 1IC position. He also said that a merge with armada pb was going ahead pending the approval of armada pb admins. This did not happen adn Chrisco posted on the forum 10 minute later that zolo is now 1IC and there is no ApB merger.

I talked to zolo this morning and he wants to stay on as 1IC and i respect that decision. I wish him all the best for the future. I am not going to fight or challenge him and reduce the clan to anarchy because Chrisco went back on his word.

This was the hardest decision i have ever made for along time - i hope you understand that it really pains me to leave this clan after putting in so much work and effort into it.

I appreciate all those who have supported me and actually read the whole 13 page document Tongue

Goodbye and Goodluck Project Aus!

Matt30822
Thanks for the service you've given Project Aus over the years. I understand your decision, and I wish you all the best.
Holy crap another leaving essay... better get reading :S
an interesting post to say the least. I dont think ive ever actually had a conversation with you matt in your entire time here lol.

As the last of the project aus boys sat in vent on the night of this whole split stuff (striken, mcnasty, phil, parka, me) we were discussing everything that happened and i noticed something; These people, these "freeloaders", were the ONLY ones putting up a fight. They were the only ones who didnt jump ship. They were the only ones who didnt just join the other clan. They held their ground, told the now high-and-mighty "lolweownedyouznow" ship jumpers to fuck off, and got someone in here to try and explain this mess of an incident. And that amazed me. For even i assumed these guys didnt give a shit. But then i saw phil and mcnasty arguing for the clan and its members, and parka and striken getting extremely worked up about the whole issue. I laughed because these 'freeloaders' were the only true members, who decided to stay and fight.

I would also like to point out that calling us freeloaders is wrong; we have plenty of other vents offered to us and turned them all down in the past.

I know you think that i dont care anymore, but i do. I mean, up until i had all my rights removed (being the one thing i asked for you guys not to do) i read every post on the site, and even now i still read every post that i still have access to.

One final thing; Phil actally said something to me which was interesting; he said that this could be a good thing, because it goes back to the days before politics and overpopulation. It could simply be heading back to a few mates playing games together again; back before the mentally-incapacitated came into this nice little place. So, whatever the outcome of this situation, i am not concerned. Because the last of us will continue to enjoy playing under the name, because with it carries memories of years past. Sure, it may be just an online gaming clan, but ive forged relationships which ill remember for the rest of my life, and this name will always be a reminder of it.

Also, id love to vent my opinions of everyone like that lol
Matt, i didn't read much of your post because i feel revolted reading the self-important whiny crap that comes with essays/leaving posts that are made here.

Here was some interesting reading though

To those that I made enemies with – I truly hope I never see you again and I hope that you suffer through life. You made my life hell so I hope that yours is too.

I truly hope that you read your own post again in a month or two. Perhaps give it to your mates in real life or something. To be honest, you should be embarrassed by it, else you need to grow up. You took your role and yourself way too seriously.

Gaming is not meant to be filled with the political white-anting that is so prominent in your story, it's there for fun. You became jaded by what you were involved in, and it is completely up to you what you chose to do, but i don't think it's up to you that paus dissolves into apb.

Perhaps your main grievance with the clan was that it was becoming spread across too many divisions. That is definitely a valid point, and i would agree. Which is why i don't mind this exodus, the smaller the group gets, the closer it becomes. It will be like a paus rebirth, you can have the clan of your dreams.

Thank you for the gift of advice Confucius, but remember
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.

Mate this was written about 2-3 days before Chrisco retired. I had just been in the WoW channel with you guys and you told me to my face and to kjon that you couldn't care less about this clan and that you were only on here for the free ventrilo.

Now - First off i knew you would care on some level. No person could entirely detach themselves from a clan that they runned for that long. It becomes part of your life. However i did beleive that you were only on here for the free ventrilo because you did leave to longy's vent for about 2 months earlier this year till X spat the chips. However i must admit that the majority of the "freeloaders" comment was directed at the Sherry members with them getting there own tags and channel.

Exactly - this is exactly right. I said that Project Aus is now no longer really a multi-gaming clan and more of an MMO clan. This is good because the whole clan is really playing only the one game and alot of the political bs would disappear because everyone plays together and everyone knows each other unlike before when there were "little pockets of members" that stuck to there own division.

I think i must state this though mate - the main reason i left was because i simply don't play WoW. That is really the only reason. If i did i would most likely still be here.

Mate - i have been telling that myself ever since i became staff. I think the only reason that i took it as seriously as i did was because i wanted this clan to be big as much as any head admin wanted it to. I became too caught up in the politcal bs in this clan and i paid a real emotional price because i was trying to hard to help this clan.

For the record - i never chose for paus to merge with apb. That was Chrisco who said it and Dropbear who suggested it. I thought that he said that once the apb admins have agreed to it then matt put up a post about it because he was busy. Simple as that and dropbear and kjon as my witness that is what he said. So please do not think i wanted this clan to "die" - i certainly did not.

I don't want public arguing.

Phil and Rockr have valid points, as do you Matt.

Agree to disagree or continue discussing it in private messages.

Rockr - My decision is to give you those rights back. You gave so much to this clan, and it's something you deserve.
Umm - i was actually agreeing with them both so i don't think we were arguing? I am happy that they bring up those points and any further points that they or anyone else may have Smile

Yeah, i said that. But do you really expect me to say otherwise? I refuse to get involved in the stupid political bullshit and if i was running the clan at the time of the genesis incident, it would have been water under the bridge. But you guys went and made a big deal out of it and since then the clan has massively suffered. We went to longys ventwhen phil and mcnasty were banned for 'freeloading', and only came back once their bans were uplifted. we didnt have to come back.

I know im not exactly a great advocator for relaxing, but with the issue of Genesis i think i am allowed to. I saw most of what happened and the way it was handled was disgusting. It was treated like it was the biggest thing to ever happen and then you decide to close it off from public eyes. Bad mistake. Thats one thing i would never do. You have to always keep the public in full knowledge, otherwise it leads to dissent. Locking stuff away in the war room never works. To bring out a 'Genesis Report' months later isnt great either; many had forgotten about the issue and raising it again simply caused to many issues.

And one, final thing. Seriously, everyone needs to stop trying to act professional. Thats one thing i hear a lot from outsiders of the clan. They laugh at the way everyone tries to act professional but it just looks so fake its laughable. The other night in vent some of the people sounded like robots.

Zolo, we arent arguing. We are discussing it. And, like always, i prefer to keep things open. Locking stuff away never works. Because in this post a lot of it isnt referring to matt at all (i used 'you' very generally), but to the general group.

I don't blame you for not getting involved in the huge political bs that this clan has gone through Tongue So much of this political stuff could of so easily been avoided had everyone just stood back for a minute to review the situation logically. The Genesis incident also could of been avoided had XtehseA actually talked to the people first before banning them. I and many others agree that we had no objection to the punishment just the methods in which that punnishment was delivered.

I wish i could of borught out the Genesis report earlier i really wish i could mate but XtheseA would have none of it. I wanted to have a general meeting to discuss what had happened about 24 hours after the actual incident but was shot down by admin. I was disgusted because the last thing i wanted was rumors and bs floating around the clan. After XtehseA left and Chrisco took over i admit i could of finished the report then but i personally was too busy and that was my fault. The only reason why i re-opened the book so to speak was that i had received requests from some members - Armada pb and Project Aus alike to do so and get some closure on the topic.

It dosen't matter now though - its in the past and as long as we all learn from the mistakes of the past then at least hopefully there is little chance of it being repeated in the future.
