I've got a bad problem.

I was disconnected from playing cod4, and when i tried to get back in it said "key code in use. PLease try again later"

Does this mean that some sh*t head has somehow taken my key code or is it something else.

Please help!!!

This has happened to me before, it means that someone else has your CD Key, take the game back to where you got it and get it replaced.

goodluck with that, i don't know of many places that are willing to replace a product with an online cd-key once the packaging has been opened

I did when i bought from EB, just tell them that it's being used already, get really angry and yeah, they actually HAVE to replace it.

It would depend on how long ago the product was sold - general policy with EB is a 30 day money back / replacement garentee. If you bought at launch then sorry to say mate but you need a new CD key or put up with them playing.

This happened to me once before. After googling for a while a came to this conclusion. Either somene else was using my key code of for some reason when my game crashed it thought I was still in a server so thinking my keycode is already in use. As the last bit of that error states, 'Try again later' so I did and it worked.

yea i had that problem with cod2 a while back, i got dc'd and couldn't get back on. but i tried the next day and it worked fine.

LOL! Go Take It Back! Na, If You Lagged Out Or Game Crashed The Server Thinks Your In It Wait Awhile.

I posted the same problem on another forum and they said that the server may think I'm still connected.

I tried a bit later and it worked. I believe the last few posts on this thread.

Every now and again the server disconnects and I have to re-enter the server, and it seems that this time a little glitch occured and it stuffed up for a little while.

How could someone have the same key code as you anyway?

hackers, friends who have borrowed the game, random guessers, employees of said game.
