hey guys for the last few weeks the site seems to be telling me there is new posts then wen i hit "find new posts" it tells me theres none? and yet i can scroll down and find them under the latest threads bit its realy frustrating lol is it a trouble at my end or not?

maybe you had been logged in for more than 30mins before clicking the button?
that problem has never happened to me before.

that'd be why then, it refreshes your login every 30mins and so removing the new posts as read.

If you are logged in, and your screensaver goes off whilst being logged in, you come back to your computer and press the button, it won't work, because it's counted as a new log in I'm fairly sure.
i spose it counts as a new login if i close fire-fox, then reopen it after 5 minutes (still logged in).
